AmericanVA SmartCARS2 Final Sunset Plan

As we continue to innovate and improve our services at American Virtual, it’s time to bid farewell to SmartCARS2, a tool that has served us well for many years. Recently, we transitioned to SmartCARS3, which offers enhanced features and a modernized experience for our pilots. However, some of our pilots are still using SmartCARS2, and they must be aware of the upcoming changes.

TFDi Design, the developers behind SmartCARS, have announced a phased sunset plan for SmartCARS2. This plan ensures that users have ample time to transition smoothly to SmartCARS3. Here are the key phases of the sunset plan:

• Premium Features Disabled (June 18, 2024): SmartCARS2 will no longer support Premium features, which will be exclusive to SmartCARS3.
• Final Sunset (September 18, 2024): The authorization servers for SmartCARS2 will be shut down, rendering the software inaccessible.

We encourage all our pilots to make the transition to SmartCARS3 as soon as possible to continue enjoying a seamless and enhanced experience. SmartCARS3 is designed to offer superior functionality, ensuring that our operations remain efficient and effective.
