STRATOS is coming to American Virtual

Something new is on final approach at American Virtual..

At American Virtual, there is always a lot happening behind the scenes. While day-to-day operations keep moving, development never stops, and today we are excited to begin introducing something we have been working on for quite a while. We are currently in the final stages of testing a new ACARS client that we intend to adopt as our primary flight tracking platform.

Introducing STRATOS

Stratos is a modern, multi-simulator ACARS and dispatch client. It brings together smart dispatch, live flight tracking, and automatic PIREP generation into one streamlined platform. It also supports major simulators across Windows, macOS, and Linux, making it a big step forward in both accessibility and reliability for our pilots.

One of the biggest highlights is its powerful landing analysis capability. Stratos automatically detects landings, calculates touchdown rate, records key flight data such as block times, fuel burn, and flight duration, and builds that information directly into your PIREP flow. That means pilots get a more complete record of every flight, and our HMs and AHMs get better tools to review landings and provide more accurate, useful feedback.

Stratos also includes support for customized VA integrations and plugins, which opens the door for airline-specific tools and features. For American Virtual, that includes our automated Company Dispatch functionality, allowing pilots to receive in-aircraft messages directly from the Dispatcher Office. We are already looking at ways to expand this even further, and more functionality will be coming soon

An “Announcements” & “Screenshots” plugin is already in the works. This is a major step forward in flight tracking technology for American Virtual, and one that we believe will benefit every pilot across the airline. More information will be shared soon! Stay tuned!!
